A leading security scanning technology company in the Greater Boston area, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in gradient power supplies and power electronics. In this role, you will design and optimize advanced power systems that are integral to the performance and reliability of cutting-edge security scanning products used in critical applications.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in power electronics and gradient power supply design.
  • Expertise in designing, simulating, and optimizing high-voltage and high-power systems.
  • Strong knowledge of DC/DC converters, inverters, and switch-mode power supplies (SMPS).
  • Hands-on experience with power component selection and circuit analysis tools (e.g., SPICE, LTSpice).
  • Familiarity with power electronics testing, validation, and debugging techniques.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience in security scanning, medical imaging, or related fields with demanding power supply requirements.
  • Knowledge of thermal management for power systems.
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC compliance and mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols for high-power systems.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, or similar tools for power system modeling.

  • 60% Gradient Power Supply and Power Electronics Design
  • 20% Simulation and Modeling of Power Systems
  • 20% Testing, Validation, and Optimization

Daily Responsibilities

  • 50% Hands-On Design and Development
  • 30% Testing, Validation, and Performance Optimization
  • 20% Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams (Mechanical, Software, and QA)
