Outstanding contract opportunity! A well-known Financial Services Company is looking for a SecOps Engineer in Charlotte, NC or Iselin, NJ.
We are looking for a mid-level to senior SecOps Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will help design and implement secure, scalable solutions for an enterprise Data Private Cloud (DPC) platform. You will focus on building large-scale applications, enforcing security best practices, ensuring data compliance, and automating workflows across the SDLC—all while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Contract Duration: 24 Months

Required Skills & Experience
  • Core Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in Python for enterprise-scale development and automation.
    • Solid understanding of security best practices, compliance frameworks, and data protection standards
    • Familiarity with common data solutions, processes, and policies
    • Experience with system design, DevOps practices, and automated testing
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Technical Background:
    • Familiarity with container platforms (e.g., OpenShift/OCP).
    • Knowledge of data access control, encryption, and masking techniques.
    • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and security integration.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience with Apache open-source tools such as Ranger, Keycloak, Spark, Iceberg, and DataHub.
  • Knowledge of S3-compatible storage systems and large-scale data processing.
  • Exposure to React.js for UI development and API endpoint design.
  • Familiarity with observability tools, incident response, and operational resilience strategies.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Develop & Implement Security Solutions: Design and build applications to enforce security controls for data access, encryption, masking, and protection across large-scale data platforms.
  • Security Monitoring & Policy Management: Contribute to the development of processes for monitoring and managing security policies and compliance.
  • Hands-On Development: Design, code, test, debug, and document Python-based solutions for security automation and compliance workflows.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with architects, DevOps engineers, and platform teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and operational workflows
  • Ensure Compliance: Apply industry standards and regulatory requirements for data security and privacy throughout system design and implementation.
  • System Design Contribution: Participate in designing secure, resilient architectures for containerized environments and large-scale data processing systems.
