Job Title: Azure Cloud Architect

Contract Duration: 1 Year

Overview:

A leading government agency focused on environmental quality is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Architect to support their Infrastructure team in the design and implementation of Microsoft Azure environments. The role involves collaborating with state-level technology departments and Microsoft Azure Support Teams to enhance a critical project from both operational and security perspectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Environment Setup: Assist in setting up and configuring a customer-owned Azure environment, including the creation of images, VNets, VPN gateways, and VDI machines based on custom images.
• Security and Management: Configure firewall rules and VPN tunnels, and set up Intune for the management of VDI machines, ensuring they are correctly assigned to resources and resource groups across high, medium, and low security zones.
• DevOps Documentation: Document the DevOps environment and ensure that proper access rights and permissions are established and maintained.
• Knowledge Sharing: Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and provide training to the team during downtime, ensuring a smooth transfer of skills and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Architect with expertise in infrastructure, security, and operations.
• Strong knowledge of Azure services, including VNets, VPN gateways, virtual machines, and Intune.
• Experience with setting up and managing VDI machines, resource groups, and firewall rules.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and environment documentation.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and share knowledge with team members.
