They will collaborate closely with data and engineering teams to address challenges and contribute to shaping the platform's future, while working alongside other engineers.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps/Infrastructure Engineering
- Prior work as an AWS DevOps Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer
- Experience designing complex cloud solutions in AWS (EC2, EKS, RDS, Lambda, etc.)
- Strong experience with Apache Kafka administration and optimization
- IaC implementation (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible)
- Must be located in Chicago or willing to relocate - this is an onsite position
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and Confluent Platform
- Container orchestration with Kubernetes/EKS
- CI/CD pipeline management (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions)
- Experience migrating from Jenkins to GitOps workflows
- Monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
- Startup experience or being part of small teams
