A leading consulting agency is seeking an experienced AWS Platform Engineer to support multiple new client-facing initiatives for a well-established enterprise in Chicago, IL. This is a full-time, hybrid role (some onsite work required), where you'll work on cutting-edge, AWS-based infrastructure powering mission-critical applications. You'll be embedded in a platform engineering team responsible for scaling infrastructure, enabling development teams, and shaping DevOps best practices.

Required Skills & Experience
· 5+ years of cloud/platform/DevOps engineering experience
· Hands-on with AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, RDS, VPC, etc.)
· Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
· CI/CD pipeline development and automation (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.)
· Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (especially EKS)
· Strong scripting in Python, Go, or Bash
· Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, and identity best practices
· Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK, etc.)
Desired Skills & Experience
· AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.)
· Experience in consulting or professional services
· GitOps tooling (ArgoCD, Flux)
· Experience in multi-account AWS orgs or Landing Zone patterns
· Exposure to compliance frameworks (SOC2, HIPAA, etc.)
· Cost optimization and tagging strategy experience

· 60% AWS Infrastructure & IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation)
· 25% CI/CD Automation and Platform Tooling
· 15% Monitoring, Logging, and Observability
Daily Responsibilities
· 40% Building and managing cloud platform infrastructure
· 30% Developing automation and deployment tooling
· 20% Troubleshooting issues across environments
· 10% Collaborating with dev teams, architects, and client stakeholders
