 We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer based in downtown Chicago for a full-time, hands-on role. This opportunity is with a leading financial services firm driving cloud innovation and modernization across its infrastructure. You will work primarily with AWS and Azure, leveraging Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux/Windows environments to optimize cloud infrastructure and application deployments. This role is 4 days on-site with one work-from-home day.
This is a highly visible role where you can make a real impact on cloud strategy, architecture, and operational excellence. You’ll mentor team members, influence cloud adoption, and build infrastructure as a product that other teams rely on. Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years hands-on experience architecting and implementing large-scale public cloud environments (AWS preferred)
- Expert knowledge of infrastructure as code and automation tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Strong Kubernetes expertise, including cluster setup, management, Helm, and containerized app deployment
- Hands-on Linux administration (RHEL preferred) and Windows systems knowledge
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines)
- Strong Python and/or Bash scripting skills
- Knowledge of networking, hybrid cloud integration, disaster recovery, and cloud security best practices
- Azure cloud experience
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator
- Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, CKS)
- FinOps and cloud cost optimization knowledge
- Experience with Ansible or other configuration management tools
- Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure or platform engineering practices
