A fast-growing organization in the technology and data space is seeking an experienced Cloud Data Architect to lead the design and delivery of cloud-native data infrastructure and architecture initiatives. This position plays a key role in implementing scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions that support advanced analytics, modeling, and enterprise decision-making.
You’ll be responsible for driving cloud transformation strategy, developing architectural standards, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to support business growth and innovation. - Lead architecture and design efforts for cloud-based data platforms, including data lakes, data warehouses, and ETL/ELT pipelines
- Build scalable, high-volume data ingestion and processing solutions from a variety of internal and external sources
- Drive the implementation of data governance, data quality controls, and security frameworks across the data lifecycle
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders, including product teams, DevOps, BI, and data engineers, to deliver data-driven solutions
- Manage tools and technologies within the cloud ecosystem to support analytics, reporting, and data science needs
- Oversee the design and deployment of data models, data marts, and infrastructure components within a cloud-first strategy
- Support fault-tolerant, high-availability architecture planning and ensure on-call readiness for critical issues
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications a plus)
- Experience architecting real-time data streaming solutions and working with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, NoSQL, Redis, etc.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data & Analytics services, including:
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure Data Lake
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Azure Databricks
- Azure Cosmos DB (preferred)
- Azure Stream Analytics
- Azure SQL DB
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and Purview is a strong plus
- Proficiency in Power BI and Power BI embedding for visualization and reporting
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
- Proven experience scaling and integrating both open-source and enterprise technologies
- Agile development experience with modern data engineering workflows
- Demonstrated success delivering cloud-based data warehouse solutions from design through production
