They have over 4 million customers and 5,000+ employees dedicated to providing innovative solutions that simplify the healthcare system, improve efficiency and outcomes while reducing costs.

What You Will Be Doing

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
- Education/Certifications Required: College degree in the mathematics field
- 3-5 years of experience in related field.
- Good math skills with excel
- Health insurance underwriting experience
- reviewing health claims
What You Will Be Doing
- Manage a Book of Business with up to 100,000 members and representing up to $350,000,000 in premium or premium equivalent.
- Meet or exceed Business Segment revenue, margin, membership, persistency goals.
- Provide consultative service to both internal and external customers.
- Has the authority to make decisions within the bounds stipulated by Underwriting Management and departmental policies.
- Produce regular and ad hoc reports for Underwriting Management.
- Analyze underwriting risk and determines premium rates for fully insured groups and funding rates for ASO groups.
- Utilize technical expertise to make recommendations regarding benefit and funding plan design options. Assist with underwriting process and system changes.
- Participate in final rate and benefit discussions with Sales and external group customers.
- May assist with the development and provision of training to the underwriting staff, sales staff, and other departments in the principles and practices of underwriting and rating.
