A local company is hiring for a Technical Writer to join their team. This role is centered on producing accurate, clear, and well-structured technical documentation while also improving the tools and processes used to manage it. The position requires working with large, complex files and converting them into editable, user-friendly formats that meet industry standards. Writers with programming or scripting experience will have the opportunity to automate and streamline workflows, making this a great role for someone who enjoys blending writing with technical problem-solving.
This is a fulltime onsite role.
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 2+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree

Must be a U.S. Citizen due to ITAR requirements
Required Skills & Experience

2+ years of technical writing experience creating and editing professional documentation

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and PDF formats
-
Experience handling large-volume documentation, including 600+ page PDFs
-
Knowledge of documentation revision/version control processes

Familiarity with ISO standards for documentation
Desired Skills & Experience

Experience with templating and programming (BVA or Visual Studio for Office strongly preferred)

Python scripting for automation and OCR (Optical Character Recognition) workflows

Ability to streamline document conversion processes for efficiency and accuracy

Aerospace, defense, or other regulated industry documentation experience

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in technical content

Daily Responsibilities

Converting large PDF documents into Word and ensuring format and content accuracy

Creating, reviewing, and editing technical documents for clarity and compliance

Developing and applying templates, standards, and style guides

Automating document workflows using Python or other scripting tools

Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure documentation supports current systems and requirements
