Our client, a large retail company, are looking for a Monitoring and Observability Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis coming into their office 3 days per week. In this role you will bring experience with monitoring & observability as well as DevOps experience to innovate and automate to improve efficiency to their infrastructure monitoring tools. You will be focused on continuous improvement as well as administer their observability platforms and help develop the roadmap.
As a Monitoring & Observability Engineer you will administer and integrate infrastructure monitoring tools, execute cross-functional collaboration and leadership, as well as leverage enterprise observability tools to solve complex business problems.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience with Linux, UNIX, and Windows operating systems
- 5+ years of experience with infrastructure and/or log monitoring tools including Zabbix, Prometheus, Nagios, Elastic
- 5+ experience with SQL
- 5+ experience with one or more programming/scripting languages
- Python, JavaScript, Java, PHP, PowerShell, Bash/Shell
- Experience with Public Cloud (Azure, GCP, AWS)
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Puppet, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology
- Experience with ITIL and ITSM methodology
- Experience with DevOps methodology
- Experience managing commercial offthe-shelf technology
This role does require an on-site presence of 3 days per week just outside of Boston
