Senior Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION

Manager Notes:

• Pay range is $34-40/hour, depending on experience level
• Initial interview will be 30 min video with 2 individuals (Sr. Director, General Accounting and a Sr. Accounting Manager)
• Training and initial work will be on site in office to begin with, with the possibility of Hybrid depending on performance after a few months
• Industry background preferred not Audit/ Big 4
• Experience in Corporate accounting for a medium sized to large company preferred
• Month end close experience
• G suite, SAP, Blackline nice to have

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting through the month end close and account reconciliation process

 

Job Expectations:

• Ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place
• Participate in monthly close process for multiple entities, including journal entries and account reconciliations for various assigned complex accounts
• Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances and preparing adjusting journal entries, including inventory
• Preparing various journal entries related to accrued liabilities including freight and non-inventory accruals
• Reconciling prepaid expenses and record adjusting entries as needed
• Preparing monthly variance analysis
• Preparing account reconciliations
• Providing support for audit requests
• Assisting department staff as needed to meet strict deadlines
• Researching accounting issues for compliance with GAAP

Experience Requirements:

Generally requires a minimum of four (4) to five (5) years of related experience

 

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred, or a combination of education or equivalent work experience. CPA and/or MBA preferred.
