A leading Oil and Energy company located in Las Colinas, TX is looking to add a skilled Senior Network Engineer to their team on a full-time, direct hire basis. This company is one of America’s largest private, independent energy companies.
The Senior Network Engineer is a very hands-on technical position responsible for the maintenance, design, implementation, and expansion of our server and network infrastructure.
The position supports a 24x7x365 environment that has a very low tolerance for planned or unplanned downtime. Therefore, all systems require redundancy and resiliency wherever possible. Experience in this kind of environment is important. The ideal candidate will be one who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a growing, successful company. - Emphasis on network design and configuration in daily responsibility
- Design, configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls
- Work closely with end users, business units, and third-party providers
- Mentor other network engineer colleagues
- Manage multiple projects and effectively communicate updates and results to peers, supervisors, and stakeholders
- Make recommendations on hardware/software purchases for the server environment to help fulfill business needs
- Dependable, reliable and predictable attendance is required
- Other duties as assigned
- High level OSPF and BGP skills
- Scripting/Automation experience desired (Ansible, Python)
- VMware networking experience
- SD WAN
- Cisco networking experience (ACI desired but not required)
- Fortinet Firewall experience
- Palo Alto Firewall experience
- Complex network design experience
- TCP/IP protocol analysis expertise
- Packet analysis expertise
- Routing protocol design and troubleshooting with BGP & OSPF
- AWS Networking experience a plus
- Large scale VPN WAN support experience
- SDWAN experience
- Proficiency in Internet, networking and routing protocols and technologies at all layers is required
- Full-time, salary will range from $85-100K depending on experience
- Eligible for a bonus that will also range from 5-10% depending on performance
