This is a full-time, on-site leadership opportunity with a public sector IT organization in Los Angeles, California. They’re seeking a Director, IT Infrastructure & Security Officer to oversee enterprise infrastructure, information security, end-user computing, and service desk operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, this role ensures the reliability, scalability, and security of mission-critical systems, including public safety communications.
This position is ideal for a seasoned IT leader who thrives in strategic planning, hands-on management, and cross-functional collaboration. The organization is modernizing its IT landscape and investing in security, infrastructure, and broadband initiatives—making this a high-impact role with visibility across senior leadership.
Required Skills & Experience-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business/Public Administration, or related field

8+ years of progressively responsible IT infrastructure experience (data storage, servers, networks, virtualization, cloud, security)

2+ years of supervisory experience managing IT staff

Strong knowledge of information security principles, risk management, incident response, and compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.)

Demonstrated success in IT operations, budgeting, and vendor management

Certifications: ITIL, CCNA/CCNP, MCSE, CISSP, CISM, or CISA

Experience managing service desk and end-user computing teams

Familiarity with public safety communication systems (police/fire)

Experience managing external service providers and contract negotiations

Prior public sector or government IT leadership experience

Develop and implement IT infrastructure and security strategy aligned with organizational goals

Oversee enterprise network, servers, storage, cloud services, and public safety communications systems

Direct information security operations, including firewalls, intrusion detection, data protection, and compliance

Lead IT infrastructure, information security, and service desk staff, fostering collaboration and professional growth

Manage daily operations, end-user support, and incident resolution to meet service-level targets

Build and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation for compliance and operational efficiency
