This is a full-time, on-site opportunity based in Los Angeles, California, with an innovative company at the forefront of mobility, AI, and clean energy technology. They're seeking a Security Engineer (Red Team) to join their Vehicle Software division. This role focuses on offensive security, penetration testing, and adversarial simulation to proactively identify and address security vulnerabilities across a broad range of connected products—including autonomous vehicles, robotics, and energy systems.
This position is ideal for a creative, hands-on engineer with a passion for breaking things to make them better. You'll have access to complex, cutting-edge environments and the freedom to simulate real-world attack scenarios that directly influence how products are secured at scale.
Required Skills & Experience-
Strong background in red teaming, penetration testing, or offensive security operations

Hands-on experience with code auditing and vulnerability discovery in languages such as C, C++, PHP, or Go

Familiarity with exploitation techniques (e.g., XSS, SQLi, CSRF, memory corruption)

Experience with secure architecture design and reverse engineering (x86, ARM, CAN)

Comfort working across various domains: web apps, networks, embedded systems, wireless protocols

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Desired Skills & Experience

Experience simulating insider threats and external attacks in a red team environment

Proficiency with phishing, social engineering, and physical access attack simulations

Ability to develop custom tooling and automated security checks

Background in cryptography or vulnerability research is a strong plus

Conduct internal and external threat simulations across networks, apps, and vehicle software

Execute proactive red team assessments and report on vulnerabilities

Perform security reviews of third-party tools and integrations

Work closely with product and engineering teams to implement security best practices

Base Salary Range: $85,000 – $300,000
