Senior Backend Engineer / Remote / Go / GraphQL / AI Startup

Job Description

An early-stage startup is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer (Go) for a full-time remote role to help build a next-generation communication platform from the ground up. The product is designed to make team collaboration faster, smarter, and more focused by deeply integrating AI into the core user experience.

This is a rare chance to join a well-funded founding team with a strong track record in scaling products used by millions. You’ll be part of a small, fast-moving engineering group focused on rapid iteration, elegant design, and exceptional UX.

Required Skills & Experience
· 5+ years backend development experience
· 2+ years designing and maintaining production-grade systems
· Strong experience with Go or other strongly-typed server-side languages
· Deep SQL and NoSQL experience (schema design, query optimization)
· Experience with GraphQL and RESTful APIs
· Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines and RAG systems
· Proficient in observability tooling (monitoring, logging, alerting)

Desired Skills & Experience
· Experience integrating AI/ML inference endpoints
· Side projects or open-source contributions in AI/ML
· Startup experience or comfort with fast-paced environments
· Strong communication and collaboration skills

Tech Breakdown
· 70% Golang
· 20% PostgreSQL / GraphQL
· 10% AI/ML integration
