Senior Database Administrator (Irvine, CA)

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, implement, and manage high-performance cloud database environments, ensuring robust and seamless data solutions for diverse business needs.
• Take proactive measures to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any database issues swiftly, ensuring system uptime and operational efficiency.
• Work closely with engineering, data science, and business units to align database solutions with evolving business objectives and technical requirements.
• Provide leadership in database performance tuning, including query optimization and resource management, to support large-scale data workloads.
• Contribute to the design and development of internal tools and frameworks to automate database management and operations.

What We're Looking For:

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in database administration with expertise in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.), and familiarity with NoSQL solutions (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
• Expertise in cloud database platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and understanding of distributed systems, data replication, and fault-tolerant architectures.
• Advanced skills in Linux/Unix system administration, including troubleshooting, automation, and system-level performance tuning.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Shell, Java) to automate and optimize database operations.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work efficiently with cross-functional teams and provide technical mentorship.
