Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, implement, and manage high-performance cloud database environments, ensuring robust and seamless data solutions for diverse business needs.
- Take proactive measures to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any database issues swiftly, ensuring system uptime and operational efficiency.
- Work closely with engineering, data science, and business units to align database solutions with evolving business objectives and technical requirements.
- Provide leadership in database performance tuning, including query optimization and resource management, to support large-scale data workloads.
- Contribute to the design and development of internal tools and frameworks to automate database management and operations.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, incorporating emerging technologies to optimize our data systems and improve business agility.
- Drive the continuous improvement of database architecture and ensure alignment with best practices in scalability, security, and fault tolerance.
What We're Looking For:
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in database administration with expertise in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.), and familiarity with NoSQL solutions (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
- Expertise in cloud database platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and understanding of distributed systems, data replication, and fault-tolerant architectures.
- Advanced skills in Linux/Unix system administration, including troubleshooting, automation, and system-level performance tuning.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Shell, Java) to automate and optimize database operations.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work efficiently with cross-functional teams and provide technical mentorship.
- Bonus points for experience with containerized databases, microservices architectures, and open-source middleware in large-scale environments.
