The Software Engineer will partner closely with product and business stakeholders to evolve the Shopify-based eCommerce platform, enhance the customer experience, and develop robust internal tools that empower teams across the organization.
Responsibilities

Design and develop new software solutions aligned with best practices in security, scalability, and performance

Participate in Agile ceremonies — including sprint planning, grooming, retrospectives, and daily scrums

Estimate effort for upcoming projects and deliver high-quality solutions on schedule

Take ownership of code and features from design through deployment and support

Provide mentorship and technical guidance to peers, promoting productivity and collaboration

Partner with product managers, designers, and cross-functional staff to deliver business solutions

Maintain and optimize existing systems to ensure high performance and reliability

Review and refine software requirements in collaboration with stakeholders

Contribute to onboarding and continuous learning for new and current team members

Identify opportunities to improve architecture, processes, and tools

Develop and maintain unit tests to ensure system stability and compatibility

Support production operations with minimal downtime when urgent issues arise
Role Requirements

3+ years of professional software development experience
-
Proven ability to mentor and support other engineers

Advanced proficiency in Python (Flask or Django); Node.js experience is a plus

Strong background in developing RESTful services and Web APIs

Hands-on experience with T-SQL (MS-SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle)

Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis

Solid understanding of relational database design and optimization (tables, views, indexes)

Comfortable with modern development workflows (Git, Gitflow, Jira, CI/CD pipelines)

Experience with Single-Page Application (SPA) architectures

Knowledge of container technologies and distributed systems design

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

English required; additional languages a plus

Schedule: core business hours, with a minimum of four days onsite each week
