Software Development Engineer in Test / Hybrid / Minneapolis

One of the major American airlines is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to join their Hybrid team in Minneapolis, MN!

This is an exciting opportunity to work on enterprise-grade applications and automation frameworks that ensure the reliability and performance of critical airline systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in automated testing, CI/CD integration, and working across UI, API, and backend layers.

Contract Duration: 12-Month Contract with the opportunity for extension or conversion

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–3 years of experience in test automation (UI and API)
  • Hands-on with Java, JavaScript, C#, or Python and tools like Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured, Postman
  • Strong knowledge of Test Automation, Channel Testing, and Test Plan Writing
  • Experience with AWS, Java, SQL, Jenkins, and GitHub/GitLab
  • Familiar with TDD/BDD frameworks (Cucumber, JBehave)

What You Will Be Doing

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web and API applications
  • Define and execute test automation strategies for unit, functional, and regression testing
  • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to improve build quality and deployment reliability
  • Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product teams to identify and resolve defects early
  • Participate in design and code reviews to ensure testability and maintainability
  • Build tools and utilities that increase automation efficiency and reduce manual testing time
  • Support performance, reliability, and integration testing efforts across distributed systems
