A federal consulting agency in South Jersey is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support secure, high-performance network infrastructure within a mission-critical environment. This full-time, onsite position offers the opportunity to play a key role in designing, maintaining, and improving complex enterprise and classified network systems that support government clients and national initiatives.

Contract Duration: 6 months, contract to hire
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in network engineering or administration within enterprise or government environments
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure, network security, and hardware technologies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and IPv4 networking, including troubleshooting connectivity issues involving Spanning Tree, DNS, and DHCP
- Experience with data center and remote office technologies such as Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, Fortinet and Cisco ASA firewalls, Zscaler, SD-WAN, and private lines
- Ability to ensure network alignment with STIG security requirements and maintain ongoing compliance
- Experience maintaining and planning SolarWinds infrastructure
- Familiarity with Layer 2 protocols such as STP, VTP, VLANs, and 802.1q trunking; routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP; and security protocols
- Experience with wireless networking and related technologies (Cisco Wireless Controllers, CAPWAP, FlexConnect)
- Proficiency with network management tools such as SolarWinds, Infoblox, and Cisco ISE
- Ability to document, plan, and troubleshoot across multiple network platforms
- Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance
Desired Skills & Experience:
- CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent professional certification
- Experience with automation and scripting
- Familiarity with cloud networking
- Experience supporting classified or secure federal environments
- Understanding of QoS, multicast, and NAC technologies
