A leading healthcare institution in the New York City area is urgently hiring for a 6-month contract opportunity focused on infrastructure and security remediation. This team will be responsible for tackling major vulnerabilities across Windows, Linux, IaaS cloud, and networking environments in a highly regulated HIPAA setting.
You’ll be joining a dedicated tiger team reporting directly to the CISO org, assembled to address high-severity issues across a large-scale hybrid infrastructure. Full executive buy-in is in place, and they’re looking for engineers who can move fast, think independently, and execute without constant oversight. You’ll work in 2-week Scrum sprints with daily standups, focusing on patching, hardening, and building long-term mitigation plans. Great opportunity for sysadmins or infrastructure engineers looking for a mission-critical, short-term project with impact.
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Required Skills & Experience
· Strong background in system administration or infrastructure engineering
· Experience with vulnerability response and patch management
· Windows Server and Linux (on-prem)
· IaaS/cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
· Networking exposure (Arista, Juniper, Palo Alto firewalls preferred)
· Familiarity with HIPAA or other compliance-heavy environments
· Comfortable working in hybrid/remote team with minimal supervision
Desired Skills & Experience
· Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Wiz, Qualys, etc.)
· Agile or Scrum-style project delivery
· Strong communication and collaboration with security/IT teams
