Platform Engineering Manager
We’re looking for a Platform Engineering Manager to scale infrastructure and platform initiatives. This role suits an experienced engineering leader who thrives at the intersection of software development and systems reliability. You’ll lead a team building the frameworks, tools, and automation that empower product teams to deliver quickly while maintaining availability, scalability, and performance. As part of engineering leadership, you’ll set platform strategy, drive cross-functional alignment, and cultivate a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
The company is located in NYC (Union Square) and will be 3-4 days onsite a week.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Set the strategic direction for platform and infrastructure, making architectural decisions that balance performance, scalability, reliability, and cost.
- Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing platform engineering team in a culture of technical rigor, ownership, and collaboration.
- Drive infrastructure-as-code practices and build scalable, self-healing systems that support rapid, consistent delivery.
- Define and enforce SLIs, SLOs, and incident response practices; design systems to tolerate failure and recover quickly.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions to ensure clear visibility into system health and performance.
- Establish processes, playbooks, and documentation for reliable, predictable execution.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, security, and operations to deliver platform solutions that increase productivity.
- Identify and resolve infrastructure bottlenecks and technical debt to support long-term scalability.
- 8+ years in software, reliability, or infrastructure engineering with deep knowledge of modern cloud-native systems (AWS, GCP, Azure), Kubernetes, containers, IaC, and microservices.
- 2+ years leading and mentoring platform or infrastructure teams, with proven hiring and people development experience.
- Proven success improving service reliability, leading incident response, and building production monitoring systems.
- Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts and influence across engineering and operations.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of trust, accountability, and shared purpose aligned with organizational values.
