Senior/Staff Platform Engineer/SRE

As one of the first engineers on their team, you’ll play a key role in shaping their technical direction. We’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineer who thrives on building and deploying resilient platform solutions, while driving reliability, scalability, and security across their systems.

The company is located in NYC (Union Square) and will be 3-4 days onsite a week.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Partner with product and engineering teams to define requirements and deliver scalable software solutions
• Build and maintain core infrastructure, tooling, and automation with a focus on reliability and security
• Champion site reliability engineering practices while collaborating with backend developers
• Develop service-level tooling to support productionization, data migrations, and system hardening
• Manage and optimize a multi-region cloud environment
• Participate in on-call rotations for infrastructure and services

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years in software, site reliability, or platform engineering
• Expertise designing and maintaining tools that ensure service reliability, monitoring, and alerting
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, high availability, and fault tolerance
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud administration (GCP preferred)
• Skilled in troubleshooting production issues across infrastructure, monitoring, deployments, and CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to balance elegant design with pragmatic trade-offs to deliver business value quickly
• Adaptability to learn new tools and technologies rapidly
• Experience in fast-paced startup environments
• Participation in incident response and post-mortem processes to address systemic issues
