About the Role
Our client’s infrastructure team, affectionately called the Time Owls, focuses on making the platform more reliable, secure, and user-friendly. This team develops and maintains tools that allow engineers to work efficiently with AWS, Kubernetes, and other services while promoting best practices and enforcing standards.
This position primarily collaborates with application engineers. Most backend applications are built in TypeScript. If your interests lean more toward data, machine learning, or AI, our client offers separate opportunities in Data Engineering.
Key Responsibilities

Develop reusable Terraform modules and Go libraries for infrastructure management.

Build and maintain Kubernetes, Docker, and compute infrastructure across engineering teams.

Enhance CI/CD pipelines and implement automation improvements.

Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure system reliability.

Support teams in improving reliability, security, and observability through documentation, code reviews, and tooling.

Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to optimize service costs.

Occasionally contribute backend code to meet deadlines or address resource constraints.

Attend team standups, company-wide meetings, and quarterly offsite events (travel required).

Advocate for engineering best practices and help elevate overall code quality.

Implement core security controls, perform security reviews, and maintain platform stability and compliance.
Required Qualifications

6+ years of relevant experience.

Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and AWS.

Proficient in Terraform, Go, and TypeScript development.

Experience in startup or fast-paced environments.

Strong Linux administration skills.

Familiarity with Git.

Experience participating in regular on-call rotations.

Knowledge of CI/CD tools and platforms.
Preferred Skills

Experience with Argo or cdk8s.

Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and observability tools.

Experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL.

Knowledge of Spacelift.

Experience with CircleCI and/or GitHub Actions.

Exposure to machine learning or large language model workflows.
