Job Description
A Wilmington, DE-based IT consulting company is seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled and motivated individual early in their IT career to gain hands-on experience supporting diverse client environments across various industries.
In this client-facing role, you will assist in the deployment, maintenance, and support of IT infrastructure solutions, both on-premises and in the cloud. Under the guidance of senior engineers, you’ll help ensure systems are secure, efficient, and meet client requirements.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys learning on the job, working directly with clients, and being part of a collaborative technical team solving real-world IT challenges.
Required Skills & Experience-
1+ years of experience in a systems administration or IT support role

Exposure to both Windows and Linux server environments

Basic understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

Foundational knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)

Some experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python)

Strong troubleshooting skills and a willingness to learn

Excellent communication skills and customer service mindset

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Experience in a helpdesk or MSP environment supporting multiple clients

Exposure to systems monitoring and backup tools

Basic familiarity with IT security best practices

Interest in certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, AWS, etc.)

Understanding of Active Directory and basic group policy management

Assisting with the deployment and maintenance of client systems (on-premises and cloud)

Supporting day-to-day system administration tasks under supervision

Responding to client support requests and troubleshooting technical issues

Performing routine system monitoring and updates

Participating in client meetings and technical discussions

Assisting in the implementation of IT best practices and documentation
