Embedded Software Test Engineer

A rapidly scaling startup in the defense sector, specializing in predictive maintenance and regulatory adherence for operational technology (OT), is hiring an Embedded Test Engineer to strengthen their growing engineering team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about enhancing test workflows through automation.

You’ll work alongside top-tier engineers in a cutting-edge embedded systems environment. The position is hybrid, requiring at least 3 days per week on-site at their Arlington, VA headquarters.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a similar technical discipline
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in testing embedded systems
• Strong coding skills in C++
• Scripting expertise using Python (or similar)
• Comfortable working within Linux-based environments
• Familiarity with network diagnostics and system-level health tracking
• Skilled in configuring and maintaining hardware/software test setups
• Must be eligible to obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Prior experience programming in Rust
• Background working in a startup or fast-paced early-stage company
• Currently holds an active Top Secret clearance
