We are seeking an organized, reliable, and detail-oriented Bookkeeping Professional to join our growing team. In this position, you will maintain accurate accounting records as well as assist in adjusting entries to accurately reflect business activities. You will help coordinate other business needs such as filing and keeping up on local and federal compliance issues. Bookkeeping duties include posting customer payments and processing payroll weekly, general ledger maintenance and reconciliations, entering journal entries, and monitoring Chart of Accounts and Financials for accuracy. Accounting software or ERP and Excel experience required. Strong understanding of GAAP and some knowledge of financial statements is paramount.
This is a 6-month Contract to Hire, in-person north Scottsdale position. This position will report to the CFO.
General Bookkeeping Duties and Responsibilities
- Cash sheet reconciliation (balancing a checkbook)
- AM/PM Cash and Settlement Reporting (done in excel via email)
- Posting customer payments and refunds via check or wire (credit cards are all automated)
- Payroll Processing (timecard and commission entry, iSolved does the rest)
- Posting general ledger activities (including bank and payroll entries)
- Account reconciliations
- Assist with payables when necessary (credit cards and other vendor accounts)
- Files maintenance including digital and physical files
- Assisting with gathering W-9, 1099, and Exemption Certificates
- Abide by and enforce facility rules and all fiduciary laws and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
General Bookkeeping Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and 2 years’ experience required; degree or certification in accounting or related field preferred
- Experience with computerized bookkeeping (Odoo, Quickbooks, Sage, Netsuite, etc.)
- Intermediate knowledge of tax accounting preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Ability to maintain discretion and communicate effectively
- Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Suite and ERP systems (manipulating Excel is a MUST)
- Excellent organization and follow-up skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- This is an in-office position
