A leading organization is seeking a Senior Desktop Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is responsible for shaping and supporting the enterprise’s workstation and mobile device landscape while providing experienced technical direction to the desktop support team. The Senior Desktop Engineer will function as a primary escalation point for advanced issues and collaborate closely with security, compliance, and risk teams to ensure the endpoint environment remains secure, reliable, and audit ready.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong operational leadership, helping drive modern endpoint management, security hardening, and process maturity across the company. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys leading technical initiatives, optimizing endpoint environments, and mentoring others.

Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience managing enterprise desktop, laptop, and mobile device ecosystems
- Strong background supporting and administering Windows endpoints
- Hands-on proficiency with modern endpoint management tools (Microsoft Intune or comparable platforms)
- Experience designing automated deployment processes and zero?touch provisioning solutions
- Ability to create, enforce, and maintain endpoint security and configuration standards
- Familiarity with vulnerability management workflows and regulatory compliance expectations
- Experience with application packaging, testing, and deploying software at scale
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and make informed architectural recommendations
- Experience guiding junior engineers and delegating operational responsibilities effectively
- Strong communication skills, including producing clear, audit?friendly documentation
- At least five years of experience in desktop engineering or endpoint management, with senior or lead-level responsibilities
- Relevant certifications are preferred (Microsoft Endpoint, Intune, security certifications), though active pursuit is acceptable
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience working within regulated environments (financial, healthcare, government, etc.)
- Knowledge of EDR, endpoint encryption, and compliance monitoring tools
- Experience supporting distributed, remote, and hybrid workforces
- Strong documentation abilities, including SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge articles
- Scripting or automation experience to improve endpoint consistency and efficiency
