This is a full-time Network & Security Engineer opportunity supporting a multi-location organization within the food distribution industry. Reporting to the Director of Technology, this role focuses on network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise security operations, helping protect business systems, data, and facilities against evolving cyber threats. The position supports a distributed environment with on-site networks across multiple facilities.
This role is ideal for a hands-on security-minded engineer who wants to own and improve an organization’s end-to-end network and security posture. You’ll be the go-to expert for safeguarding systems, training employees, and responding to incidents—while also helping standardize and modernize infrastructure across locations. Employment Type: Full-Time (Direct Hire)
Mostly remote, visiting office for critical/emergency resolutions
Travel: once a month (domestic)

Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in IT security and network administration
  • Proven ability to install, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure and topology
  • Strong background in cybersecurity practices, including risk assessment, threat mitigation, and incident response
  • Hands-on experience implementing and supporting security solutions
  • Ability to lead response efforts during security incidents or breaches
  • Experience identifying system vulnerabilities and closing security gaps
  • Strong communication skills for documentation, training, and incident reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Technology or a related field

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or similar
  • Experience developing or updating security policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with emerging security technologies and industry trends
  • Experience delivering employee training on security best practices
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint or similar tools for training and presentations
  • Experience supporting multi-site or distributed environments
