Forward Deployed Engineer

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll serve on the front lines of our federal platform operations — driving reliability, performance, and observability across mission-critical systems that secure data sharing. You’ll blend hands-on engineering with direct collaboration alongside government clients to strengthen the privacy, resilience, and scalability of the company’s infrastructure.

The company is located in Columbia, MD and will be a hybrid model of 3 days onsite a week.
The candidate must have an Active TS/SCI Clearance.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Monitor and optimize platform and containerized environments to ensure peak performance and uptime.
• Proactively detect, analyze, and resolve performance and reliability issues in real time.
• Build, refine, and automate core infrastructure components to support operational excellence.
• Collaborate daily with internal engineering teams and federal partners to align systems with mission needs.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering or SRE, focused on scalability, reliability, and automation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Strong background in DevSecOps, including CI/CD pipelines and source control (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Bitbucket, or TFS).
• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and cloud management best practices.
• Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Helm).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working independently and closely with on-site clients.
