We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on IT Engineer to lead and evolve our internal IT operations. In this role, you’ll serve as the primary IT resource for the company—supporting a growing team, overseeing device and identity management systems, and implementing security measures that safeguard our systems and data. You’ll collaborate closely with security and engineering partners to build and scale a high-performing, secure IT environment in a fast-paced startup setting.
The company is located in Arlington, VA and will be 4-5 days onsite a week.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Act as the primary IT contact for the organization, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues quickly while ensuring a positive user experience.
- Administer our MDM platform (JumpCloud), ensuring devices are properly enrolled, configured, and secured. Manage user provisioning, access permissions, and offboarding processes.
- Implement and maintain SSO integrations across SaaS applications to enhance security and streamline user access.
- Collaborate with security leadership to develop, implement, and enforce IT security policies. Assist in maintaining compliance with frameworks such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST 800-171).
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash and Python to streamline repetitive tasks, software deployments, and large-scale system configurations. Work confidently in command-line environments.
- Install, configure, and support office technology, including networking equipment, workstations, printers, and video conferencing systems.
- Create and maintain concise documentation for IT procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting resources.
- Manage productivity and collaboration platforms such as Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, including licensing, permissions, and integrations.
- Effectively prioritize and execute multiple IT projects in a fast-paced environment.
- 3+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or a related technical role
- Hands-on experience with MDM solutions (e.g., JumpCloud, Jamf, Kandji, or similar platforms)
- Strong knowledge of SSO/SAML integrations and identity management best practices
- Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting
- Experience with command-line administration on macOS and Linux systems
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 administration
- Experience configuring and maintaining office IT infrastructure and networking equipment
- Strong analytical troubleshooting skills with a customer-focused approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a startup environment
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous learning
