FPGA Engineer

As an FPGA Engineer at our company, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing FPGA-based solutions for advanced security systems. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to create custom hardware solutions that enhance the security and performance of our products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with FPGA design, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for cutting-edge security technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and test FPGA-based hardware systems for security applications.
  • Develop and optimize RTL code using VHDL or Verilog for FPGA devices.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate FPGA designs into broader security systems.
  • Perform functional and performance verification of FPGA designs, including simulation, testing, and debugging.
  • Analyze and optimize hardware performance to meet stringent security and timing requirements.
  • Work with external vendors and hardware partners to ensure compatibility and performance standards.
  • Participate in architecture design reviews and offer technical input on system design and hardware integration.
  • Support the full product development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in FPGA design and development.
  • Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog for FPGA design and simulation.
  • Strong understanding of FPGA architectures, hardware description languages, and digital logic design.
  • Experience with FPGA development tools (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Altera Quartus) and simulation tools (e.g., ModelSim).
  • Familiarity with security protocols, cryptographic algorithms, and hardware security solutions is a plus.
  • Experience in developing high-performance, low-latency designs for security-critical applications is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex hardware issues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with high-speed digital interfaces (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet, USB).
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontroller integration.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks, threat detection, or encryption algorithms.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment.
  • Prior experience in a security or defense-related field is a strong plus.
