A leading non-profit financial institution is seeking a Solution Architect to join their growing architecture team. This role offers a unique opportunity to bridge business and technology, translating complex business challenges into elegant technical solutions while mentoring team members and shaping enterprise architecture strategy. This full-time opportunity is onsite in Downtown Chicago.
As a Solution Architect, you'll work closely with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and design comprehensive solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards. This isn't just about technical design, you'll serve as a trusted advisor, building relationships across the organization and guiding teams from concept through implementation. You'll be part of a collaborative 5-person architecture team reporting to a dedicated leader, working on high-impact initiatives that drive business value.

Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in information technology roles
- 1-3 years of experience in architecture roles (enterprise or solution architecture)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education/work experience
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Experience modeling system diagrams, functional processes, and interfaces between systems
- Strong understanding of cloud computing services, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Deep technical expertise in cloud computing, databases, networking, software development methodologies, domain driven design, and event driven architecture
- Experience working in a financial institution or fintech organization
- Experience in a regulated industry
- AWS certifications
- TOGAF certification
- Background transitioning from software development to architecture roles
