Our client is seeking an IT Strategic Sourcing Lead / Category Manager to join their team for a long-term contract engagement. You will have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite / 2 days remote.

Responsible for leveraging cutting edge technology to solve business problems by participating in all phases of the development process from inception through transition, advocating the agile process and test-driven development, using object-oriented development tools to analyze, model, design, construct and test reusable objects, and making the codebase better.

Required Skills & Experience
- Category Management Expertise and Supply Chain knowledge.
- Understanding of supply chain concepts, with work experience applying those concepts.
- Potential team leader with strong communication skills.
- Project Management
- Supplier Contract Negotiating and influencing skills.
- Previous experience with Source to Pay systems.
- Business understanding, particularly in project management, early supplier involvement, total cost management and financial analysis.
- Understanding and use of technical tools for analysis, problem solving, forecasting and quality improvement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
- 3 years related work experience.
- Demonstrable skills for category management, commercial negotiations, securing hard savings and cost avoidance, and executing complex deals in a fast-changing environment.
- Master's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or other related field.
- 7 years related work experience.
- Knowledge of Source to Pay systems.
- Strong project management skills.
- Process Mapping abilities.
- Supplier Risk Analysis.
- Supplier Relationship Management.
What You Will Be Doing
- Represent the company in business transactions with both internal and external organizations.
- Create and manage strategies, negotiations, RFPs, and contracts.
- Create, negotiate, implement and manage long term contracts while effectively developing and promoting strategic partnerships with suppliers.
- Work closely with the Client’s internal customers and stakeholders to understand their business needs, objectives, product/service requirements and the broader operational processes.
- Effectively communicates with appropriate management levels both internally and externally.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change.
- Assist with the Training program for the Procurement & Supply Chain team, as necessary.
- Assist with the Supplier Diversity program, as necessary.
