Process Automation Engineer (12-month contract-to-hire)

There is an opening for a Process Automation Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to be hybrid in Herndon, VA. This hybrid role requires U.S. citizenship and an on-site presence of at least 4 days per week. Candidates must also be willing to convert to a Full-Time Employee in October 2026 as this is a contract-to-hire role.

The ideal candidate will possess:

-Strong analytical and process-oriented skills and be adept at process mapping using techniques such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN), and detailed flowcharts

-The ability to perform root cause analysis using methodologies like the 5 Whys or Fishbone Diagrams is essential, as is proficiency in gathering and translating detailed requirements for automation projects.


-Experience in collecting and analyzing process data, such as cycle times and error rates, to justify and measure automation impact.

-A solid understanding of automation technologies - including Robotic Process Automation (RPA), APIs, scripting, and workflow automation tools.

-Basic knowledge of databases (SQL) and APIs is highly valued for defining clear requirements.
