Database Administrator / Hybrid / Minneapolis

One of the major American airlines is looking for a Database Administrator to join their Hybrid team in Minneapolis, MN!

This role is an exciting opportunity to design, implement, and support enterprise-standard database environments that power critical business systems. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in database architecture, performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and cross-functional collaboration with application and infrastructure teams.

Contract Duration: 12-Month Contract with the opportunity for extension or conversion

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical/scientific field with 5+ years of IT experience, or 3+ years of focused database administration
  • Strong experience with relational database design, implementation, and support
  • Hands-on experience installing and maintaining DBMS platforms
  • Knowledge of logical/physical data modeling and data warehouse concepts
  • Experience with database monitoring, performance tuning, and backup/recovery
  • Familiarity with operating systems, networking, and application environment

What You Will Be Doing

Daily Responsibilities

  • Translate logical models and user requirements into physical database designs
  • Build and maintain database environments across dev, test, and production
  • Install, configure, and support DBMS software
  • Partner with system engineers and application teams on database needs
  • Monitor performance, implement tuning, and manage backup/recovery
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues
  • Support change implementations and planned downtime
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call database support
