An IT consulting company based in Royersford, PA is seeking a Level 2 Systems Engineer to join their team on the second shift (3:00 PM – 12:00 AM ET). In this client-facing role, you will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing IT infrastructure solutions for a wide range of clients across various industries.
You will work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure systems remain secure, stable, and optimized—whether on-premises or in the cloud. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in a dynamic, service-oriented environment and enjoys solving complex technical issues with professionalism and efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience-
2+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering or administration, preferably within an IT consulting or managed services environment

Proven success in client-facing technical support roles with strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)

Experience managing cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

Strong scripting and automation abilities using PowerShell, Python, or Ansible

Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs)
-
Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning

Working knowledge of IT security best practices and compliance standards

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently during non-standard business hours

Experience supporting multiple client environments in a managed services or consulting capacity

Familiarity with database management and system backup/restore procedures

Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

Experience implementing disaster recovery and high-availability solutions

Exposure to ticketing systems and ITIL-based support processes

Providing second-level technical support and incident resolution for client infrastructure issues during the second shift

Assisting with system design, deployment, and optimization for client environments (on-premises and cloud-based)

Performing routine maintenance, updates, and patch management

Automating system configurations and monitoring processes to improve efficiency and reliability

Collaborating with senior engineers and project teams on infrastructure projects and escalations

Ensuring systems meet client security, compliance, and performance requirements
