A global law firm is seeking a Manager, Cloud Governance to lead enterprise data governance initiatives across cloud and on-prem environments. This role will define and implement data policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen the firm’s data protection posture. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a data governance framework, including policies, standards, and controls

  • Implement data retention, classification, and protection programs using Microsoft Purview and related tools

  • Oversee data security and privacy controls to safeguard firm and client information

  • Collaborate with Security, GRC, IT, and Legal teams to align governance with business and regulatory requirements

  • Provide training and guidance on data handling best practices

  • Design reporting and alerting mechanisms to support proactive data governance

Technology Stack

  • Microsoft Purview (Information Protection, Lifecycle Management, DLP)

  • Varonis, iManage Threat Manager

  • Azure Information Protection, O365, SharePoint, Teams

  • Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, and related frameworks

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years in IT, information security, or data governance

  • Expertise in cloud data protection and Microsoft 365 security tools

  • Strong understanding of risk management and compliance frameworks

  • Certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, or CRISC preferred

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
