This company in the utilities space is tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges, from how we power our lives to how we keep our environment clean, and turning them into opportunities for innovation. They looking for a Director of Platform and Automation to help them through modernization.
In this role, you'll shape the technology strategy, drive automation at scale, and influence how the organization evolves its digital platforms. You'll bring the leadership skills to grow and inspire a high-performing team, paired with the technical depth to guide AWS cost optimization and Terraform-based automation. While you won’t be coding day-to-day, you’ll stay close to the technology, reviewing solutions and steering critical decisions.
This hybrid position requires three days onsite in Wilmington, DE.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 10+ years leading technology strategy and operations
- Proven experience managing multiple teams and large-scale projects
- Strong background in driving technology transformation and efficiency in organizations
- Deep technical knowledge across enterprise systems, standards, and best practices
- Track record of leading innovation, adopting emerging technologies, and delivering measurable results
- Agile methodology experience (preferred) and AWS certifications (nice to have)
- Build and oversee the long-term technology roadmap, ensuring it supports business growth and strategic goals
- Lead integration strategy and ensure consistent standards across the organization
- Expand automation initiatives, including robotic process automation (RPA), to drive efficiency
- Deliver strategic insights by leveraging data platforms and advanced technology solutions
- Partner with executives to influence digital roadmaps and organizational priorities
- Assess current systems, recommend improvements, and implement cost-saving measures (e.g., automation, FinOps practices)
- Prepare and present technology strategies to senior leadership and executive committees
- Guide annual budgeting and prioritization processes related to technology investments
- Lead, mentor, and develop a skilled technology workforce, ensuring alignment with both business and individual career goals
