We're looking for a highly skilled Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Engineer to design, build, and maintain our core cloud infrastructure. You'll be the go-to expert for all things related to GCP's foundational services, ensuring our platform is scalable, secure, and reliable. Core Details:
- Hybrid (2 to 3 days on-site) in Ashburn, VA.
- Full-Time Direct Hire
- Compensation: 150k to 200k base compensation
- Ability to obtain & maintain a Top-Secret Clearance required.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud.
- Manage core GCP services, including Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), subnets, firewalls, and routing tables.
- Configure and maintain GCP storage solutions like Cloud Storage, Filestore, and Persistent Disk.
- Oversee identity and access management (IAM) to ensure the principle of least privilege is applied.
- Manage and operate cloud-native database services such as Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, and Bigtable, including performance tuning and high-availability configuration.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize infrastructure costs.
- Manage container orchestration platforms such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure their applications have the necessary infrastructure resources.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of working with Cloud technologies
- 3+ years of experience working directly with applications or resources in Google Cloud
- Proven experience as a Platform, Cloud, or Infrastructure Engineer.
- Deep, hands-on experience with foundational GCP services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and VPC.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and VPNs within a cloud environment.
- Experience with infrastructure such as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).
- GCP certification (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect) is a plus.
- Experience with scripting tools such as Bash and Python
- Experience with Git, GitLab, Jenkins or Harness
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Existing DHS/CBP or TS clearance is a plus
