Lead Python Engineer

Job Description

My client is seeking a Tech Lead Python Engineer to bring a deep expertise in data engineering, Databricks, and Snowflake to join the team. You would be responsible for leading a team of data engineers and developers in the design and development of scalable data solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Python and Databricks, and proven ability of designing data models using Snowflake and experience working in Azure cloud environments.

Required Skills and Experience 

• 7+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Desired Skills and Experience 

• Relevant working experience in the life sciences industry

What you will be doing 

• Establish best practices and provide technical oversight and guidance
• Architect and implement end-to-end data pipelines using Python, Databricks, and Snowflake, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes, integrating data from diverse sources and enabling advanced analytics and machine learning workloads
• Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to design data models and warehouse schemas that support real-time and batch analytics use cases.
• Deploy and manage data solutions on Azure, leveraging services such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, and other PaaS offerings.
• Continuously improve cloud infrastructure by optimizing resource usage, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising on performance or security.
• Introduce and enforce software engineering design patterns, SOLID principles, and robust testing frameworks.
• Write modular, reusable, and maintainable Python code, including unit tests and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
