About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer to lead our Infrastructure as Code and DevOps initiatives while owning the systems that power every core product—from a Django-based underwriting engine to modern data pipelines and scalable compute layers.

In this pivotal role, you will design secure, highly available cloud architecture, automate infrastructure provisioning, and champion DevOps best practices across the organization. You'll have the opportunity to influence architecture and culture in a fast-growing, AI-powered finance platform transforming how private businesses manage capital, payments, and supply chains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwriting Engine Reliability: Own the performance, scalability, and reliability of the core Django-based underwriting platform.

  • Data & Compute Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain automated data pipelines (Airflow, Postgres) and distributed compute workflows to support real-time analytics and machine learning models.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate AWS infrastructure using Pulumi or Terraform to ensure consistency, scalability, and repeatability.

  • DevOps Culture Leadership: Define and implement best practices for CI/CD, observability, and incident response across engineering teams.

  • Cloud Migration: Lead the migration of applications and data from DigitalOcean to AWS ECS, ensuring minimal downtime and secure data transition.

  • Monitoring & Alerting: Set up robust observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) to detect and resolve issues proactively.

  • Security & Compliance: Enforce cloud infrastructure security best practices including IAM, vulnerability management, and support for compliance frameworks such as SOC 2.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services, including ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, and MWAA

  • Proven experience managing production Django applications

  • Strong proficiency with Pulumi or Terraform for Infrastructure as Code

  • Expertise in GitHub Actions and CI/CD automation

  • Deep understanding of Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration

  • Experience with secret management tools and techniques

  • Strong skills in Python and test automation frameworks for Django

  • Solid grasp of cloud security best practices

  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus/Grafana

  • Knowledge of database performance optimization is a plus

  • Familiarity with SOC 2 compliance is a plus
