Mid-Level Network Engineer/Hybrid New Jersey

We are seeking a talented Mid-Level Network Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our client’s network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing network capabilities and meeting business objectives.
Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN, etc.)
• Configure and install networking equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, etc.)
• Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, defining and monitoring access
• Collaborate with system engineers, software developers, and other IT staff to implement network solutions
• Evaluate network performance and find ways of improvement
• Ensure network infrastructure complies with industry standards and best practices
• Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy
• Conduct regular network assessments and vulnerability testing

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a network engineer role (X years of experience)
• Hands-on experience with networking equipment (Cisco, Juniper, etc.)
• Solid understanding of network protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF)
• Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with access control models and network security
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP-ENT)
• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Experience with virtualization
• Experience with network automation tools and techniques
