We are partnering with a prominent organization in the education sector to find an experienced and innovative IT Director to join their leadership team.
This is a mix of hands on engineering and strategic role. You will be responsible for overseeing the technology infrastructure, operations, and the future IT roadmap to support the organization’s mission of delivering exceptional educational experiences. The IT Director will collaborate with internal stakeholders, lead a dynamic tech team, and ensure the institution’s technology aligns with the evolving needs of students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the organization’s IT strategy, ensuring alignment with educational goals and overall business objectives.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, including systems administration, hardware and software management, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a growing team of IT professionals. Provide training and career development opportunities.
  • Drive the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance the learning environment, including cloud solutions, LMS integrations, and digital learning platforms.
  • Ensure the security, privacy, and compliance of all technology systems, including protecting sensitive student and institutional data.
  • Collaborate with leadership and faculty to understand tech needs and identify solutions to optimize educational delivery.
  • Manage the IT budget, including forecasting and vendor relationship management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring minimal disruption to the educational process.
  • Serve as a liaison between external technology vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in technology and education to help shape the institution’s long-term IT vision.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in IT leadership roles, ideally within the education or similar sectors.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and application management.
  • Expertise in IT security, data protection, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), cloud platforms, and digital collaboration tools.
  • Knowledge of current trends in educational technology, including virtual classrooms and e-learning technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and develop teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex, technical challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
