A rapidly scaling technology company headquartered in Phoenix, AZ, specializing in cloud-native solutions and data-driven platforms for enterprise clients across healthcare, manufacturing, and finance, is looking to bring on a true Azure Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead a major restructuring and optimization of their Azure environment. This is a full-time direct hire opportunity that offers high visibility, impact, and technical ownership in a modern PaaS-driven environment.

You’ll collaborate with a small, agile engineering team, driving best practices around cost optimization, monitoring, automation, and resilience while being the go-to authority on Azure’s full PaaS ecosystem. Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (preferably PaaS-focused environments)

Strong knowledge of App Services, Azure SQL, Blob/File Storage, Key Vault, and Azure Monitor

Experience optimizing cost, performance, and resource utilization across Azure subscriptions

Proven background in cloud architecture, scaling, and disaster recovery design

Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, preferably through Azure DevOps

Experience with networking, security groups, and Azure Active Directory integration
Desired Skills & Experience

Prior experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates)

Familiarity with containerized workloads using AKS or Azure Container Apps

Experience integrating log aggregation, observability, and monitoring tools (Log Analytics, App Insights, Grafana)

Exposure to multi-region deployments and business continuity strategies

Excellent communication and documentation skills for working with leadership and cross-functional teams
