Azure DevOps Engineer

A rapidly scaling technology company headquartered in Phoenix, AZ, specializing in cloud-native solutions and data-driven platforms for enterprise clients across healthcare, manufacturing, and finance, is looking to bring on a true Azure Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead a major restructuring and optimization of their Azure environment. This is a full-time direct hire opportunity that offers high visibility, impact, and technical ownership in a modern PaaS-driven environment.

The company recently closed another significant round of funding and is entering a phase of rapid scaling over the next 12–18 months. You’ll collaborate with a small, agile engineering team, driving best practices around cost optimization, monitoring, automation, and resilience while being the go-to authority on Azure’s full PaaS ecosystem. This is the perfect opportunity for an engineer ready to build, not maintain, and to lead innovation across infrastructure, data, and DevOps.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (preferably PaaS-focused environments)

  • Strong knowledge of App Services, Azure SQL, Blob/File Storage, Key Vault, and Azure Monitor

  • Experience optimizing cost, performance, and resource utilization across Azure subscriptions

  • Proven background in cloud architecture, scaling, and disaster recovery design

  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, preferably through Azure DevOps

  • Experience with networking, security groups, and Azure Active Directory integration

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Prior experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates)

  • Familiarity with containerized workloads using AKS or Azure Container Apps

  • Experience integrating log aggregation, observability, and monitoring tools (Log Analytics, App Insights, Grafana)

  • Exposure to multi-region deployments and business continuity strategies

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills for working with leadership and cross-functional teams
