Biometrics Software Engineer

A global border security technology company is seeking to hire a Biometrics Software Engineer to join its engineering team in Reston, Virginia. They specialize in biometric recognition, immigration processing, and intelligent data management systems used to support international border and identity management operations. This full-time role will focus on designing and developing biometric software solutions for identity verification and biometric capture systems using technologies such as C#, .NET, RESTful APIs, microservices architectures, and biometric hardware integration, supporting immigration and border management platforms globally.

This role offers an opportunity to work on biometric technology that directly supports global border security and identity verification systems. The team is looking for an experienced engineer who is skilled in building secure, high-performance software and is excited to work at the intersection of biometrics, hardware integration, and backend systems. Desired skills

• Design, develop, and maintain biometric software applications and services across web and Windows platforms.
• Implement biometric processing solutions including fingerprint, facial recognition, and other identity technologies.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Develop and maintain APIs, microservices, and distributed systems supporting biometric data processing and integration.
• Integrate biometric hardware devices such as scanners, cameras, and capture systems.
• Ensure high levels of security, scalability, and performance in biometric solutions.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in C# and .NET development.
• Experience working with biometric technologies (fingerprint, facial recognition, iris, or multimodal systems).
• Experience developing secure, high-performance applications for Windows platforms.
• Demonstrated experience with SQL Server and relational database design.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs, gRPC services, and microservices architectures.
• Experience integrating biometric hardware devices and SDKs.
• Knowledge of data security, encryption, and identity management principles.
• Familiarity with GitHub version control and unit testing frameworks.
