Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Electronic Engineer II with 4 - 7 years of experience to join our team. This position involves designing and developing analog and DC power electronics for infrastructure communications circuits. The successful candidate will work closely with another power electronics engineer and interface with a mechanical engineer. Exceptional communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop analog and DC power electronics for communications circuits.
• Undertake the initial assignment of developing analog and DC power for next-generation infrastructure products.
• Support field and factory issues related to analog and DC power on legacy products.
• Collaborate with power electronics and mechanical engineers to achieve project objectives.
• Conduct in-depth data evaluations to analyze complex issues and develop effective resolutions.
• Manage and meet project timelines and constraints, with efforts typically lasting 6 to 12 months.

Specific Knowledge/Skills:
• Strong experience with power electronics circuits or analog circuits.
• Proficiency in schematic capture and high-speed PCB layout best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in product development and pre-compliance testing.
• Expertise in working in cross-functional teams.
• Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in selecting appropriate topologies for various applications.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 4 - 7 years of relevant experience.

Main Responsibilities: What are the main responsibilities that your new hire will have?
Change a design of discrete switch mode power supply circuit to a PMIC in Cadence schematic capture and then once the modem is built, certify the design change by testing the changes per the test plan created by the MSI Power architect. This is required for 3 different PCBs.
Key Contributions: What are the top three contributions this new hire will make to the company within their first 90 or 120 days?
Replace an EOL part with a qualified and active part allowing the product to continue to ship.

Must-Have Qualifications: What qualifications are must-haves for candidates? (e.g., X technical skills, experience with Y projects, Z certification or license)
Knowledge of switch mode power supplies in a buck configuration.
Able to operate an oscilloscope to take transient measurements.
Excellent communication skills as the candidate will work closely with the MSI engineering team.
Software Proficiency: What software should your new hire be proficient in?
Required Experience Level: Mid-level,
The candidate must have enough technical knowledge in switch mode power supplies to work independently with only some guidance from the MSI mentor.

Work Environment & Requirements:
Work Environment: Provide the type of work environment.
The office environment is casual. The candidate will be provided a desk in a quiet office environment and will have a separate lab area for taking measurements to certify the design.
Safety-Sensitive Functions: Does this position require the resource to perform "safety-sensitive" functions? (e.g., operating machinery, working with hazardous materials, driving, live wires, etc.) If yes, then the full drug panel drug test is requested. Yes.

Lifting Requirements: Will there be any lifting? No. If so, how many pounds?
Safety Equipment: Provide any safety equipment needed. Safety glasses are required for soldering and they are provided by MSI.

The contractor will report to hiring manager and be mentored by one of the power electronics engineers.

US Citizenship: Does the position support a customer that requires the resource to be a US citizen? Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Training: How long will the training be for this resource before they are expected to work independently? ~ 2 weeks of onsite training.
