DevOps Engineer

This company is seeking a forward-thinking DevOps Engineer to join our expanding technology team. As we continue our shift to a modern, cloud-native, and microservices-based environment, this role will be critical in driving velocity, reliability, and scalability. You’ll partner with development, QA, and platform teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure management, observability, and overall developer experience.

The company is located in Knoxville, TN and will be a hybrid model of 3 days onsite a week.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
  • Advance infrastructure-as-code practices with Terraform.
  • Manage and optimize cloud resources across AWS and Azure.
  • Build and support observability solutions with New Relic and custom dashboards.
  • Collaborate with engineers to embed CI/CD, monitoring, and security in development workflows.
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and high availability of cloud-native and microservices architecture.
  • Automate routine tasks to reduce manual effort and increase deployment reliability.
  • Provide best practices in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Platform Environment
  • Cloud: AWS & Azure (cloud-native, PaaS, serverless-first)
  • IaC: Terraform
  • CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps
  • Observability: New Relic, custom metrics & logging pipelines
  • Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 3+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or related roles.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps).
  • Proficiency in Terraform or other IaC tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production.
  • Familiarity with observability tools (New Relic, CloudWatch, or similar).
  • Skilled in managing AWS and/or Azure cloud-native environments.
  • Knowledge of secure DevOps practices and IAM.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and developers.
  • Passion for automation, developer productivity, and continuous delivery.
