Senior Systems Administrator
In this role, you will act as the technical lead and subject matter expert responsible for maintaining and optimizing the organization’s network and server infrastructure. You will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, security, and performance while delivering professional, responsive, and user-focused IT support across the organization.
The company is located in Wakefield, MA and is 5 days onsite to start/train, then will transition to a hybrid model of 3 days onsite.

You will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, security, and performance while delivering professional, responsive, and user-focused IT support across the organization.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Administer and support all aspects of network operations including servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, security tools, cloud services, firewalls, VPNs, routing, switching, segmentation, wireless networks, backups, IPSec, and content filtering
- Manage hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructure, including SAN environments and server virtualization
- Monitor network and server performance and ensure system availability
- Support and administer Microsoft Azure and Office 365 environments
- Manage Active Directory architecture and Group Policy configurations
- Oversee backup and recovery platforms such as Veeam and/or Rubrik
- Maintain Fortinet and Cisco (or equivalent) firewalls, routers, and switches
- Develop, maintain, and update technical documentation
- Coordinate with the IT Infrastructure team to develop and maintain security policies
- Provide Tier 2/3 end-user support for both local and remote staff
- Deploy and troubleshoot workstations and end-user devices
- Maintain software and hardware license compliance
- Train users on security awareness, best practices, and IT procedures
- 8+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or Systems Administrator in SMB or enterprise environments
- 8+ years managing hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructure, preferably with Microsoft Azure
- 8+ years supporting Active Directory and Group Policy
- 8+ years administering Microsoft 365
- 8+ years supporting Cisco (or equivalent) networking and firewall technologies
- Strong VMware virtualization experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills across desktop, server, and network environments
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
