Job Description

A growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Wayne, PA is seeking a Systems Engineer with strong server build and deployment experience to join our team. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys designing, building, and supporting server infrastructure while also working with core networking and cloud technologies across multiple client environments.

You will work with a variety of small to mid-sized businesses, helping architect, deploy, and maintain both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure. The role focuses heavily on server builds, infrastructure deployments, Microsoft 365 administration, virtualization, and basic networking, while also supporting ongoing operations and troubleshooting across client environments.

This is a hands-on technical role where you’ll participate in new infrastructure deployments, server migrations, environment standardization, and ongoing support while delivering high-quality technical service to clients.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar IT role (MSP experience preferred)

• Hands-on experience building and deploying Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022)

• Experience performing server builds, migrations, and infrastructure deployments

• Strong experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, Intune, and tenant configuration

• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V

• Working knowledge of basic networking concepts including VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, and routing

• Experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues across LAN/WAN environments

• Experience supporting Active Directory environments, Group Policy, and identity management

• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to manage multiple client environments

• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Strong documentation habits and familiarity with ticketing / PSA platforms

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience with server deployments and infrastructure builds in MSP environments

• Experience supporting hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud)

• Familiarity with Azure AD / Entra ID and directory synchronization

• Experience configuring or troubleshooting firewalls, site-to-site VPNs, and remote access VPNs

• Experience performing Microsoft 365 migrations or tenant implementations

• Exposure to backup and disaster recovery platforms (Datto, Veeam, etc.)

• Experience with PowerShell scripting or infrastructure automation

• Familiarity with network switching and wireless infrastructure (VLAN configuration, access points, etc.)

• Knowledge of IT security best practices and endpoint protection tools

What You Will Be Doing

• Building and deploying Windows Server infrastructure for client environments

• Supporting and maintaining Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain services

• Deploying and managing virtualized infrastructure (VMware / Hyper-V)

• Administering Microsoft 365 tenants, including Exchange Online, Teams, and Intune

• Assisting with server migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure modernization projects

• Performing basic network configuration and troubleshooting including VLANs, VPNs, DNS, and DHCP

• Supporting firewalls, switches, and wireless networks in client environments

• Maintaining backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity systems

• Documenting infrastructure, configurations, and procedures

• Resolving escalated technical issues across multiple client environments

• Participating in client onboarding, environment assessments, and infrastructure improvement initiatives
