Senior .NET Engineer

As a Senior Back End / Full Stack Developer, you will help lead the design and build of a greenfield AI-powered application used internally across the organization. You will play a hands-on technical leadership role—contributing high-quality code, setting architectural direction, and collaborating with product, data, and engineering stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a backend-focused engineer with strong .NET Core experience, but who is also comfortable in front-end-heavy full stack development (React, TypeScript preferred). This role is suited for someone currently located in Texas and open to occasional onsite meetings in Dallas.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–10 years of experience in professional software development

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar technical field

• 2+ years at current company with a track record of stability and progression

• Expertise in .NET Core and C# for backend development

• Experience building and consuming REST APIs

• Hands-on experience with Azure and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server

• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript and React experience (especially for front-end-heavy full stack role)

• Familiarity with clean architecture principles and scalable software patterns

• Strong communication and ability to interact with both technical and non-technical teams

Desired Skills & Experience

• Prior experience at a consulting firm or professional services environment

• Python and Django experience is a strong plus

• Experience with OpenAI tools or Azure AI integration

• Experience building or supporting internal chat or knowledge-base tools

• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployment

• Exposure to AI/ML models, NLP, or chatbot applications

What You Will Be Doing

Tech Breakdown

• 60% Back-End (.NET Core, C#, Azure, PostgreSQL)

• 30% Front-End (React, TypeScript, UI implementation)

• 10% AI/ML integration and architectural design

Daily Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable internal web applications

• Collaborate with consultants, product managers, and tax subject-matter experts

• Build AI-driven features leveraging Microsoft Azure and OpenAI

• Lead technical discussions and mentor junior developers

• Own end-to-end feature development from architecture to deployment

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and ensure code quality through peer review and testing
